Zelenskyy: Russia's UAV facilities and oil refineries targeted

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out long-range attacks on several targets inside Russia overnight.

In a post on his social media account, Zelenskyy stated that facilities used for the storage, preparation, and launch of attack-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Russia's Oryol and Rostov regions were targeted. The Ukrainian leader also reported that some military targets were hit in the attacks.

According to the statement, military airfields in Yeysk and the Black Sea region were also among the targets. Zelenskyy further stated that an oil refinery in the Leningrad region, which he said provides millions of dollars in revenue to Russia's war budget every month, was also struck.

Zelenskyy noted that attacks on facilities in the Bashkortostan and Arkhangelsk regions earlier this week have also been confirmed. He emphasized that Ukraine's long-range attacks aim to weaken Russia's capacity to wage war.

The Ukrainian leader also argued that military pressure must be supported by new sanctions against Russia. Zelenskyy said that a significant portion of the weapons Russia uses in attacks on Ukrainian cities and settlements depends on foreign components, chemicals, and machinery.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine regularly shares information with its partners regarding Russia's methods of bypassing sanctions and thanked the countries that contribute to closing these loopholes.
