US President Joe Biden has announced that he is withdrawing his candidacy for the elections to be held on November 5.
Making the announcement on the social media platform X, Joe Biden noted that although he wanted to be re-elected, he was withdrawing from the race, and that he believed focusing on his presidential duties for the remainder of his term would be in the best interest of his party and the country.
Evaluating this decision made by Biden, 12punto columnist Prof. Dr. Barış Doster stated that Biden's increasing health problems had begun to significantly affect the election process and that the gap between the two candidates had widened significantly following the assassination attempt on Trump.
