On stage for the first time since the assassination attempt: Donald Trump's nomination acceptance

Donald Trump made his first public appearance and speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee following the assassination attempt he survived during a campaign rally on July 13.

"I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America," Trump stated, emphasizing that winning only half of America is not a success.

Trump declared, "I am accepting your nomination for president of the United States with faith, devotion, and pride."

Stating that they would achieve a massive victory in November, Trump underscored that a new era of security would begin for everyone and that the divisions within society must be "healed."

"I AM MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER"

Recounting the details of the assassination attempt, Trump said, "Despite such a heinous attack, we are united and determined tonight. I am more determined than ever."

REACTION TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Pointing to the recent increase in political polarization in the country, Trump argued that the opposition should not be legally prosecuted and that political disagreement should not be demonized, stating, "In this spirit, the Democratic Party must immediately stop weaponizing the justice system and labeling their political opponents as enemies of democracy."

ATTACKED BIDEN, LISTED HIS PROMISES

Declaring, "Tonight, I am here to present a vision for the entire nation, for every citizen," Trump argued that the upcoming November election would be the "most important election in the country's history" and launched an attack on the Biden administration.

Asserting that the current administration cannot solve problems in the economy, energy, illegal immigration, and foreign policy, Trump said, "Tonight, I make this promise to the great people of America: I will end the devastating inflation crisis, and I will immediately lower interest rates and energy costs. We will drill, baby, drill."

Trump claimed that once he takes office, he will resolve all current international crises, including those in Russia, Ukraine, and Israel, adding, "If I were president, none of this would have ever happened."

At the end of his nearly hour-and-a-half speech, Trump said, "Just a few days ago, my journey with you was almost over. But tonight, we are here again, gathered together, talking about the future," and asked for the support of the attendees to be re-elected president.

At the conclusion of his speech, Trump bid farewell to the party members in attendance, accompanied by music and balloons dropped from the ceiling, as his family members joined him on stage.
