The Saadet-Gelecek parliamentary group held its first group meeting of 2025.
"THEY ARE EVADING THE ISSUE"
Addressing the government over their meetings with the DEM Party İmralı delegation, Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan said, "On Monday, the DEM Party delegation visited us. We were informed about this process that has begun. However, the fact that the process is currently being conducted by the MHP through the press and by the DEM Party face-to-face raises questions. It is very difficult to understand how these two parties, which could never reconcile even if they were boiled in the same pot for 20 years, have come together. Does anyone here know where the state stands in this matter? Why are we only being informed by the DEM Party? Why is the President evading the issue? Who is bringing everyone together, whether they want it or not? No one should take offense, but we are obliged to ask these questions."
'WE DO NOT SUPPORT CLOSED-DOOR POLITICS'
Stating, "We will continue to follow this process carefully and meticulously," Arıkan used the following expressions:
"We have a fundamental principle in this process: we will support all processes where there is a solution, where the nation's interest is served, and where everyone, all 85 million, wins, not just a few individuals. We believe that the most important parameter of the process is transparency. Regardless of the level, we do not support closed-door politics on such an important issue. The public must be convinced that the goal of the process is not political calculations but to produce a permanent solution to the issue, and that all parties are sincere."
