Özdağ explains the benefit of the presidential election going to a second round
Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ met with young people in Giresun. Özdağ gave a striking answer to a question from the youth about what benefit the election going to a second round had for the country.

Visiting Giresun, Özdağ said during a visit to a local newspaper in the Bulancak district that he had embarked on a tour covering the Black Sea Region, which then extended through Erzurum to Bayburt, Gümüşhane, Erzincan, Sivas, and Yozgat.
Meeting with young people at a cafe in the city center, Özdağ emphasized that the Turkish nation is one of the oldest and greatest nations in history, stating that the Turkish nation has a 4,000-year history of statehood.
Stating that countless crises have been overcome within these 4,000 years, Özdağ continued his words as follows:
"We will overcome this crisis as well, so never lose your hope, young people; you are the children of a great nation. We have lived in this geography uninterrupted for the last thousand years, and we will continue to live in this geography for the next thousand years, but let us not have to pay a price for this again; let Antep not become 'Gazi' (veteran) again, let Maraş not become 'Kahraman' (hero) again. They want to drag us into a civil war like Lebanon or Syria; let us not allow this, friends."
Touching upon the presidential elections, Özdağ argued that they were the ones who ensured the elections went to a second round.
Following these remarks, Özdağ gave the following answer to the question regarding what benefit the election going to a second round had for the country:
"If the CHP and the Table of Six had wanted to win, they could have elected Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the second round if they had done what we said, but because Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu managed the 14-day period in between very poorly under the pressure of other party leaders, he squandered an election that could have been won by securing 1 million 301 thousand votes.
The reason it went to a second round was that the chance of winning remained, because it was clear that neither side could win in the first round.
Our presence ensured this because nearly 5 million people did not want to vote for either side, as we saw, and we brought this potential into politics."
