In 2023, only an Apple Pencil with USB-C, compatible with new iPads, was introduced.

This shift in consumer behavior may have prompted Apple to re-evaluate its tablet strategy and focus on more effective, less frequent hardware updates.
Rumors and analyst predictions suggest that 2024 will be a significant year for the iPad series, with hardware refreshes expected for every model, including the entry-level iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. A 12.9-inch iPad Air model is also expected to arrive, which would be a new addition. The high-end iPad Pro is expected to offer new features, including OLED display technology, the M3 chip, and a new laptop-like keyboard accessory.
