Updated design and new health features coming to Apple Watches
In addition to featuring an updated design, the smartwatches Apple will introduce in 2024 will also offer new health data.
Predictions are already being made that Apple will be more AI-focused in 2024. Alongside this, the company plans to bring a major update to the Apple Watch series. As noted by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his Power On newsletter, future models will include a new set of features aimed at increasing consumer interest.
So what will these be?
A design update is on the way for the Apple Watch. The 2024 watches will be thinner and feature magnetic mechanisms. While there have been rumors for some time about a larger micro-LED screen for the Ultra model, Apple is not expected to be ready to introduce this technology until 2025 or 2026.
The real major update will be on the health side. It is expected that sleep apnea and hypertension detection will be possible with these new watches.
Blood pressure measurement will be used to detect hypertension on the watch.
Sleep apnea is a significant cause for those who cannot get quality sleep. While the watch will provide important data for its detection, users will be able to receive professional treatment as a result.
The smartwatches are expected to be introduced in September 2024.
