Jaguar Type 01 interior design details unveiled: A new take on modern luxury

Jaguar, whose Turkey distributorship is held by Borusan Otomotiv, has shared the first information regarding the interior design of its new four-door GT model, the Type 01. Positioned as the first mass-production representative of the brand's new creative philosophy, the Type 01 is described as a sign of a new era for Jaguar with its electric architecture and cabin approach.

The interior of the Jaguar Type 01 will be shown for the first time at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event on August 16. The global launch of the model is planned for October 6, 2026, in New York. The Type 01 prototype will also make its North American debut with a new camouflage wrap as part of Monterey Car Week.

EMPHASIS ON A CENTRAL SPINE IN THE CABIN

According to information provided by Jaguar, the cabin of the Type 01 features a central spine that highlights the car's longitudinal form. This design element aims to create four distinct areas within the interior while bringing the concept car vision to a mass-production vehicle.

The low driving position and the cabin structure that surrounds the driver have been configured to offer a sense of comfort and security in line with its GT character. The model also highlights compartments and technologies that remain hidden until needed, as well as unexpected color touches.

It is stated that the interior of the Type 01 is inspired by the timeless appearance of travertine stone and the textures of handmade textiles. A brass-inspired metallic finish that extends along the central spine continues into the upper section of the doors, creating a holistic look. This signature design is completed with the Jaguar logo.

Infotainment technologies have been positioned to be part of the cabin. It was announced that digital interfaces are placed to provide easy access to necessary controls, and the digital ClearSight Rear View Mirror is located at the base of the windshield, on the same horizontal plane as the mirrors.

Our holistic design philosophy transforms the car's exterior appearance into a unique interior architecture. Contrary to the horizontal interior design norm, we emphasize the car's longitudinal structure through a central spine.

Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover also stated that the Type 01 is the first mass-production car to reflect the brand's new creative philosophy, adding that the model aims to make every journey special with its driving experience, design, and the feeling it creates.

The term "Type" in the name Type 01 refers to Jaguar's iconic models from the past, while "0" symbolizes zero exhaust emissions and "1" represents the first of the new generation. Designed, developed, and to be produced in the United Kingdom, the model will be the first mass-production Jaguar built on the Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA).
