Development stirring AKP corridors: Binali Yıldırım's notable move following operation allegations
Journalist Nuray Babacan wrote that Binali Yıldırım contacted certain figures within the AKP following allegations of an operation concerning his family companies.
A new behind-the-scenes claim regarding former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has emerged. Journalist Nuray Babacan reported that after receiving information that an operation would be conducted targeting himself and his family's companies, Yıldırım established contact with certain figures within the AKP.
According to the claim, upon hearing that preparations were being made regarding his family companies, Yıldırım called several individuals within the party, stating that he was complaining about those conducting the process and that he would convey the matter to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In her article, Nuray Babacan stated, "According to the claim, Binali Yıldırım, upon hearing that an operation would be conducted regarding his family companies, called some names in the party, complained about those doing it, and said he would convey the matter to the President. These individuals do not know whether he met with Erdoğan, but what has happened since this development a few months ago creates the impression that he did not achieve much of a result."
TRANSFER TRANSACTIONS HAD DRAWN ATTENTION
The transfer transaction that took place within the shipping structure belonging to the Yıldırım family had also recently been a subject of public debate. The transfer of the company, which was stated to belong to his sons, to Semiha Yıldırım had drawn attention during a period when the former Prime Minister's name was mentioned in connection with various allegations.
This behind-the-scenes information came at a time when legal processes against certain names are being discussed in AKP circles following the testimony of former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek as a suspect. In party corridors, it is suggested that the steps taken regarding some names who have come to the fore with allegations of money and wealth are part of a "cleansing" process.
The relevant part of Nuray Babacan's article in Nefes is as follows:
"It is known that former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek and former Prime Minister and Minister Binali Yıldırım, who served in many high-level positions in the party and was once the right-hand man of President Tayyip Erdoğan, no longer have power and influence in the party.
These names were frequently mentioned in conversations among AKP members regarding unjust enrichment and the misuse of political power. It is not just them; it is as if there are 'lists of names' that AKP members know a lot about!
There are such names that when they are mentioned, gossip is made by talking about their sons, sons-in-law, companies, and money abroad.
***
Those who determine that their mistakes harm the party remain silent when we ask who is responsible for the allegations made, the files that have emerged, and the investigations that have been closed for so many years. Or they remind us that they are not the decision-makers!
According to the claim, Binali Yıldırım, who heard that an operation would be conducted regarding his family companies, called some names in the party, complained about those doing it, and said he would convey the matter to the President.
These individuals do not know whether he met with Erdoğan, but what has happened since this development a few months ago creates the impression that he did not achieve much of a result.

Among AKP members, there are also those who defend claims such as, "A cleansing is being carried out in the party. The return of money smuggled abroad is being ensured. The ground is being prepared to justify the operation to be carried out on the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality," but it does not gain much traction.
A final view; at some point, someone will intervene and stop the investigations and operations 'somewhere.' It will be limited to intimidation by saying, "We know what you are doing." Just like the pulling of the ears of the Black Sea capital that once supported Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
***
In the end, the comments made are that these activities targeting names left on the periphery of the AKP, such as 'AKP trolls, the Süleymancılar, İdris Naim Şahin, Melih Gökçek, Binali Yıldırım,' will not be enough to 'refresh the image.'
Namely; neither the operations carried out on opposition municipalities, nor the blackmail of 'either go to jail or join us' to seize municipalities, nor the transfer of deputies move the party's vote rate by an inch. By the most optimistic estimates, it is stuck at 30 percent."
