Birol Altınkılıç, founder of the Altınmarka Group and owner of Kahve Dünyası, has died at the age of 66 following a heart attack.
Birol Altınkılıç, the owner of Kahve Dünyası and founder and Chairman of the Board of the Altınmarka Group, has passed away at the age of 66. It was reported that Altınkılıç died as a result of a heart attack.
The Altınmarka Group, one of Turkey's major cocoa producers, was founded in 1992. The group, which began its operations as a family business, transitioned to the production of cocoa products in 1994 by commissioning a high-tech cocoa processing facility.
Over the years, the Altınmarka Group has become one of the companies supplying cocoa to the chocolate, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic sectors both in Turkey and globally. The group is also listed among the suppliers for international chocolate manufacturers such as Nestlé and Ferrero.
The Kahve Dünyası brand is also among those that have grown through the operations of the Altınmarka Group. Cocoa beans imported from abroad are processed in the group's facilities and used in the brand's products.
In 2019, Birol Altınkılıç was included in Forbes' list of the "100 Richest Turks" with a fortune of 500 million dollars.
