The CHP starts its conventions with enthusiasm.

They all came with hope,

and left as failures.

Many slogans were chanted in the CHP, and much wordplay was performed. But their votes did not increase. They could not keep the ship afloat. It has been stuck for years. Whichever party stood against the CHP won. The CHP had an excuse; they said THE PEOPLE ARE IGNORANT. We later understood that the people are not ignorant. The CHP is not doing what is necessary.

After the September 12 coup, parties were allowed to form. They named the party the Social Democratic Party. However, social democracy was the political program of the capitalist order. Turkey's true intellectuals, many intellectuals who understood the true CHP, the six-arrow Atatürkist, issued the necessary warnings on this matter. But the CHP insisted on a new ideology. For this, it hit its head against the wall, and in the end, it arrived at liberalism. The current Republican People's Party is a neoliberal party. The AK Party is also a liberal party. In terms of their economic views, there is not much difference between them. Currently, our people are without a party. The people are looking for their party.

Why did the Republican People's Party abandon statism?

What reports did it prepare, what scientific research did it conduct, and what statistics did it present to abandon the principle of statism? Turkey's fastest period of development is the Atatürk era, when the principle of statism was applied. But the CHP members did not like this. Many CHP members did not even like Atatürk.

The principle of revolutionism was also ignored. Being an admirer of Europe and being Westernist were seen as modernity, and the West was practically worshipped. Yet, the West was an ugly building whose polish was gradually peeling off. The West is colonialist. The West is imperialist. It has not raised its voice against the blood spilled. The West means capitalism. And the most ruthless, the most degenerate kind at that.

The same goes for independence. The idea of independence was always ignored in the CHP. NATO-ism was mistaken for democracy. Yet, NATO-ism was at the foundation of all coups.

As for the bylaws, the Republican People's Party has actually preferred to be a party of a single leader where the leader is powerful. There are very few leaders in the Republican People's Party who embrace intra-party democracy.

For example, the obligation to pay dues has been discussed for decades but has never been implemented. Those who enrich themselves through the party, the fixers, and the people who create political corruption are the ones who have gained power within the party by taking advantage of not paying dues. If you settle for symbolic dues, you cannot prevent the corruption at the base of the party. What corrupts politics is that party members do not pay dues.

Intra-party education has also not been successful. There is much to be said on this subject, but I do not want to hurt the party members any further. The large number of members in a party does not show that the party is strong. The number of conscious members, the number of active members, and the institutionalization of the party show the strength of the party. If you manage a party not with law but with commands, that party is no longer an organization; it becomes a simple crowd. A leader plus crowds is never called a party. A party means a common mind.

The CHP began to drift away from the Atatürk line with the 7th Convention.

The 7th Ordinary Convention of the CHP began on November 17, 1947. It lasted 19 days.

The decisions taken at the 1947 CHP Convention were criticized as a betrayal of the revolution and Kemalism. A process of change was entered. The party moved away from its traditional policy. Furthermore, with this convention, the transition was made from a revolutionary process to an evolutionary process. THE 7TH CONVENTION INTEGRATED TURKEY WITH THE IMPERIALIST FRONT.

We cannot understand the CHP without understanding the 7th Convention.
