He entered the Military Middle School at the age of 8.

On August 24, 1916, the Russians had advanced from the East. They had taken Erzurum and Erzincan and reached Bingöl. After that; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Ministry, the Presidency, and so on.
Let's call those civilian duties. Everything else was military service. Officer duties, staff work, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, military expertise, etc. And the rank of Pasha...
Who is this Pasha?
Of course, it is Ismet Inönü. Exactly 30 years of military service. But do you know what they called Ismet Inönü, who had been a soldier since the age of 8 and performed all these military duties listed above?
They called him a "draft dodger."
Former Parliament Speaker Hüsamettin Cindoruk said, while engaging in politics in the youth branches of the Democrat Party, "We used to call Inönü a draft dodger, and this public would believe it."
And this was even with the title "ISMET PASHA."
Ignorance was at that level.
Oh, beautiful Atatürk...
How beautifully he spoke 100 years ago, in 1921. It is as if he summarized today.
"Look at this pathetic mind. We are in this state today because of these outdated, closed-to-the-world, primitive minds. There is no other way; we must renew ourselves, progress, and keep up with modern civilization. And for this, we must change these frozen, stagnant, numb minds. Otherwise, even if we are saved today, we will become sacrificial lambs tomorrow, we will become prey. They will exploit us comfortably again. They will try to make us do what they cannot make us do today in the future. They will find plenty of collaborators again. This great struggle—the War of Independence—for which many of our children, as well as Lieutenant Colonel Nazım, gave their lives, will have been in vain," he said.
If you ask what state we are in 100 years later, we are exactly in this pathetic state of mind.
They said, "There are secret clauses in Lausanne," and this mind believed it,
They said, "We are going to the moon in 2023," and it believed it.
They said, "We built double roads to the moon," and they believed it.
In this country, even the President slandered with a montage video.
We have even forgotten about the draft dodger...
