As masks fall in New York...

A column I read yesterday revealed the brutal yet ironic contradiction between the rhetoric politics has built for years and reality, hidden between the lines of one of the government's own media outlets.

For days and months, a tremendous wind of anti-Israel sentiment has been blowing in domestic politics. Harsh sentences starting with "Hey Israel" are being delivered from podiums and in public squares. 

The conscience and compassion of society are shaken by the pain caused by the blood flowing in streams and the inhumane genocide taking place in Palestine.

Millions in the ranks of the government are striving with all their might to boycott brands they see as responsible for every drop of tear shed in streets and shops, making calls from their social media accounts. 

So, what happened the other day in New York, within the magnificent walls of the Turkish House? 

According to Dilek Güngör, a columnist for Sabah newspaper—the flagship of the AKP in the media and one of its primary, unwavering, and loyal propaganda apparatuses—President Erdoğan met with the world's capital giants in the US, where he went for the United Nations meeting. 

The "colorful dialogues" that took place at the meeting are remarkable. We are not saying this; it is shared by Dilek Güngör, for whom it is impossible to write a single word that would annoy the government camp. 

According to Güngör's lines, Erdoğan turned to the executives of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo—companies some protest, get angry at when they see their logos, and pour out on the ground—and asked, "Which of you has a larger market share?" Laughter, cheerful moments...  

The truly grave and astonishing dimension of the matter is not limited to just these two beverage giants. 

When you look at the list of participants shared by Güngör, the picture makes one say, "What a bitter contradiction this is..."  

US Eximbank, Amazon, Boeing, Citigroup, JP Morgan, MasterCard, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Uber, FedEx, Procter & Gamble, RTX, and many others...

Is there anyone who does not know what these companies mean? 

These giants are the very global monopolies that produce jets for Israel's massacre machine, provide aircraft to its pilots, give lifeblood to its economy, and finance the genocide.  

I am keeping the sincere, innocent people who feel the pain in Palestine in their hearts and showing a fierce moral resistance to keep those boycotted products out of their homes completely out of this equation; their small but essentially great efforts are valuable. 

As for the meeting at the Turkish House, I leave it to the judgment of our people....
