For days, someone has been telling us on television commercials “What is the Republic?”...
An Atatürkist brother of mine, who has been producing spare parts for the world's most well-known brands for decades, recently sent me a message. He says exactly this:
“They are being shameless about the 100th Anniversary, Mustafa Brother… I am sick of the 100th-anniversary celebrations with commercials. Made-to-order a la carte PR jobs, religious referencing between a quarter-loaf of bread, those who market themselves to those who have institutionalized sustainable social pressure… The 'White Turks' who only cross the Kapıkule border as 'tourists'… I am sick of it, Mustafa Brother… These frauds are making me sick to my stomach!”

It is impossible not to agree with the rebellion of my brother, who puts his hand under the stone and still tries to export in this currency uncertainty and economic crisis…
Who isn't among those filling the television screens…
The 'gang of five', for example… It turns out they were such great republicans and we didn't even know it…
Or the Demirören family, the government's cheerleaders and errand boys… They have never strayed from the path of Atatürk and our heroic veterans and martyrs… Hear it and believe it!
Ülker, for instance… The private sector's biggest religious capital! As if they aren't the ones who have been holding sects in high regard, feeding and growing them for years. You would think Murat Ülker's father, Sabri Ülker, was a comrade-in-arms of Atatürk…
And what about those public banks? It turns out you were such revolutionaries, such populists, such secularists, and such supporters of the social state, and we didn't even know it!
Lies, hypocrisy, and fraud are rampant…
Either they received instructions from somewhere high up saying “Don't leave the Republic celebration to the republicans”; or they see that they have reached the end of the road and are trying to save the situation!

Whatever… That's not my concern! Look at the greatness of Atatürk's Republic that it brings even these enemies of the republic and their moles into line!
My concern is with what they say in the commercials…
These friends have been telling us “What is the Republic?” in television commercials for days!
The Republic means independence, it means rights, it means law, it means freedom, it means equality, it means labor…
It means the right to determine one's own future…
The Republic means science, art, culture, modernity, progress…
It means workshops, factories, fields, workplaces…

Leave aside the commercials and the hypocritical fake republicans; the Chairman of the Republican People's Party, the founding party of the Republic of Turkey, is saying the same things.
At a reception held at a luxury hotel on the evening of October 27, he defined the Republic with exactly these sentences:
“The Republic is the path of sweating together and rising together.
The Republic is equality, it is freedom, that is, it is justice.
The Republic is science, it is knowledge, it is modernity.
The Republic is the first and most important step on the road to democracy. The Republic is not an idea found or established overnight, but a goal reached stitch by stitch, by paying a price.”

Did you notice that the definition of the republic by the Chairman of the CHP, the founder of our republic, and the definitions of the republic by the “yellow republican businessmen” (like yellow unionists) are almost the same…
Yet, none of what they list makes the republic an “Atatürk Republic”…
Something is missing!
Secularism!
Without secularism, the republic alone is no cure for any ailment…
Take secularism out of the republic, and what remains is Iran…
Without secularism, the republic becomes an Islamic Republic, a Christian Republic, or an RTE (Radical Single Hand) Republic…
It becomes autocracy, it becomes oppression, it becomes a dictatorship.
In other words, without secularism, there is no right, no law, no freedom, no independence, and no equality in the republic…
None of what is listed in those commercial scripts or Kılıçdaroğlu's speech would exist…

I don't know how aware Kılıçdaroğlu is, but…
If there is no secularism within the Republic, there is no CHP either!
That is why today I am shouting a different sentence than these degenerate republicans:
Long live the Secular Republic…
Long live the Atatürk Republic…
