CHP has found the formula for power!

For years, the AKP has known how to stay in power by gathering votes from conservatives, religious groups, and sects. 

What didn't the old CHP management try to change this situation? They collaborated with disgruntled figures who left the AKP. They gave them parliamentary seats so they could enter the assembly. They formed the Table of Six, and five of their partners were conservative. 

If we rewind the film even further, they chose Cairo-born former Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Prof. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, as their presidential candidate. 

Yet, they still couldn't win over the conservative voter. They could neither get their votes nor their appreciation... They rowed against the tide in vain and alienated their own voters in the process.

Having lost hope in the religious establishment, the new CHP management has set its sights on the tavern!

While explaining his party's vision, the new leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, pointed to those who enjoy an evening drink. Stating that they would remove a 'zero' from prices when they come to power, Özel said, "While salaries remain at today's levels, expenses will drop. For example, ground beef will be 55 liras, lamb chops 70 liras. 1 liter of rakı will be 140 liras. That's the calculation."

Good for him. That is how you do the math. Like Erdoğan, Özel is a real economist. He will solve the problem by removing a zero from the currency.

Oh well, whatever, we'll polish off two glasses and that will be that. 

My friend, someone explain to me why politics in this country is conducted in a way even more absurd than the sketches on 'Güldür Güldür'. 

The main opposition party, which has been chasing power for 22 years since 2002, is going to come to power by making rakı cheaper, is that it? They will collect the votes they couldn't get from the mosque at the tavern! Honestly, it's like a sketch.

I have no hope left. Instead of conducting scientific studies on an economic program, restoring trust in justice, meritocracy, and such, we just remove a zero and make rakı cheaper, and the job is done, right?

Those who drink rakı already vote for you. When you shout this from the podium, will they see double and cast two votes? 

Of course, Özgür Özel must have wanted to offer hope to citizens struggling with economic hardships by making such a promise, but as I said, shouldn't politicians weigh their words twice before speaking?

Look, the Anadolu Agency, which you always criticize by saying "They don't give us space, they are the government's spokesperson," did not miss the opportunity. They served this brilliant idea to all their subscribers. 

The late Süleyman Demirel had a saying: "There is no government that an empty pot cannot topple"... But the pot is not that glass!

That is certainly what you meant to imply, but while the ordinary citizen is careful with their words, and we journalists filter our discourse twice, the thoughtless remarks made by politicians cause our hope to be broken even further. 

If you cannot make a difference, you are no different from those you criticize.
