Christopher Nolan and his wife to be awarded knighthood
Christopher Nolan, who won an Oscar for the film Oppenheimer, and his wife Emma Thomas, who has served as producer on most of the director's films, will be awarded knighthood and damehood for their contributions to cinema.
Christopher Nolan, remembered as Hollywood's box-office record-breaking director with high-budget, massive productions such as 'Interstellar', 'The Dark Knight Rises', and 'Oppenheimer', and his film producer wife Emma Thomas will be awarded knighthood and damehood.
In a statement from the British government, it was stated that the duo is being honored for their services to cinema.
According to BBC reports, Nolan won the 'Best Director' Oscar at the 96th Academy Awards held this month for his biographical film about the theoretical physicist Oppenheimer, known as the inventor of the atomic bomb.
The film, which also bears Emma Thomas's signature as producer, returned from the ceremony with a total of 7 awards, including 'Best Picture'.
