Domestic tourists discover Cappadocia from the sky

Vacationers who came to Cappadocia from different parts of the country for the 9-day holiday showed great interest in the hot air balloon tours held at sunrise.

Crews began preparations in the early hours of the day at balloon launch sites around the town of Göreme and the village of Çavuşin in Nevşehir.

After the guests were taken into the baskets, the hot air balloons rose into the sky, adding color to the regional landscape.

Domestic tourists participating in the balloon tour glided over valleys covered with fairy chimneys for about an hour, watching the natural and historical beauties from a bird's-eye view.

'A PLACE THAT MUST BE SEEN BEFORE YOU DIE'

Ayça Aksoy, one of the participants in the balloon tour, told an AA reporter that they came from Istanbul with a group of friends for the holiday and wanted to greet the sun illuminating the holiday morning from the sky, stating, "There is a magnificent view. We made our reservations a month ago. I am very excited to be riding in a balloon. I rode one 3 years ago in the winter; a very different landscape forms in the winter as well. I invite everyone here; I can say that it is a place that must be seen before you die."

Meltem Öztekin stated that she chose Cappadocia for the holiday to experience the joy of flying in a balloon, saying, "This is my first time in Cappadocia; it has a very fascinating atmosphere. I watched the balloons take off from the hotel yesterday, and now I am very excited to be inside one."

Some domestic and foreign tourists in the region also posed on the valley slopes to take photos of the scenery created by the hot air balloons gliding through the sky.
