Emotional speech by Mabel Matiz at Harbiye: 'I went from the courthouse corridors to the Harbiye stage...'
Mabel Matiz, who gave a statement regarding his song and music video "Ha Leylim," took the stage at Harbiye the same evening following a judicial control decision.
Mabel Matiz met with his fans at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on the same evening he gave a statement as part of an "obscenity" investigation launched against him due to the lyrics and music video of his song "Ha Leylim."
Matiz, who went to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan during the day, was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control measures in the form of a travel ban following his statement to the prosecutor. In line with the prosecutor's request, a judicial control decision was issued for the artist.
Taking the stage after completing his procedures at the courthouse, Matiz shared his day with his audience during the concert. The artist said, "I had a very difficult day, as you all know. I went from the courthouse corridors to the Harbiye stage..." he said.
Stating that he did not want to hide his emotions during his speech, Matiz addressed the audience with these words: "In every concert, I am a little bit 'Leyla' (lost in thought), those who come know. Sometimes my eyes drift or fill with tears. Sometimes I laugh at unexpected moments. There is a different intensity this evening."
Emphasizing that he wanted to share his vulnerability on stage, Matiz stated, "So, you might see these mood swings more often. I don't want to filter or stop myself too much. I want to open all my vulnerability to you, to open my heart to you."
