Kadir İnanır speaks out: I am demanding my rights against the exploitation of labor

Kadir İnanır, one of the legendary actors of Turkish cinema, has launched a legal battle over his films that have been broadcast on screens without permission for many years.

Even while his health recovery process continues, İnanır has not given up on his search for justice and has filed compensation lawsuits against certain production companies on the grounds of copyright infringement. The artist emphasized that this initiative is not just a personal claim for rights, but an effort to seek compensation for the labor that the art community has put in for years.

One of the companies targeted within the scope of the lawsuit is Gülşah Film, owned by Hülya Koçyiğit and Selim Soydan. In the petition submitted to the Istanbul Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Civil Court, it was stated that the producers had broadcast the productions in which İnanır starred on digital platforms and television channels without permission for years and had generated significant income from these broadcasts. However, it was noted that no royalty fees were paid to the artists during this process.

Kadir İnanır, who is continuing his treatment at the Romatem Physical Therapy Center, made striking assessments regarding the issue in a statement to T24:

"I am demanding my rights against the exploitation of labor. As an artist who has dedicated his labor to the cinema and television industry for many years, I would like to state clearly that the lawsuits I have filed are not just individual legal struggles concerning myself. These lawsuits are also a struggle for the rights of all artists in the industry. If I am speaking out today, another artist's voice will rise tomorrow. Because the issue is not just one person's right, but the restoration of professional dignity and years of labor. I know that I am right in this struggle. And I believe that this legal battle will result in the restoration of the rights of art and the artist."
