March concert program at İş Sanat announced

İş Sanat will host the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on its stage on the evening of Tuesday, March 5.

Renowned pianist Rüya Taner will perform as a soloist in the concert, which will take place on the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.

The concert, conducted by Rengim Gökmen, will feature Ali Hoca’s "Cyprus Capriccio" as well as works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Felix Mendelssohn.

Since its inception, the TRNC Presidential Symphony Orchestra has performed regular concerts in every city of the country under the baton of its permanent conductor Ali Hoca, as well as prominent conductors such as Rengim Gökmen, Antonio Pirolli, Josef Suilen, and Chloe Van Soeterstede, and has shared the stage with famous soloists including İdil Biret, Gülsin Onay, and Fazıl Say.

Aiming to develop a polyphonic and universal musical culture, understanding, and appreciation, the TRNC Presidential Symphony Orchestra contributes to the promotion of its country's music both domestically and abroad by performing works by world-famous composers as well as Cypriot composers.

One of the leading artists of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Rüya Taner, began her musical education with her father, Yılmaz Taner. Continuing her piano studies at the Ankara State Conservatory with Mithat Fenmen and Tulga Çetiz, Taner became a student of Prof. Joan Havill at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in 1983 with a TRNC State Scholarship under the "Law for Training Gifted Children."

The artist has won first-place awards in the "National Mozart Competition," "Oxford" and "Hatfield" competitions, and "Franz Liszt Interpretations," and received praise from music critics for her recital at "Wigmore Hall" in 1998. Since 2001, Rüya Taner has served as the "Special Art Consultant" to the Presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and as the Art Consultant for the "North Cyprus Bellapais Music Festival."

The concert will take place on Tuesday evening, March 5.

THEY WILL PERFORM KAYAHAN SONGS

İş Sanat brings together the unforgettable songs of the legendary Turkish pop music icon Kayahan in the "İstanbul Kadar Güzel" (As Beautiful as Istanbul) concert, interpreted by Emre Altuğ. The guests of this special concert, which features arrangements by master musician Alper Kömürcü, will be İpek Açar and Demet Sağıroğlu.

A 30-piece orchestra will accompany the concert, where Kayahan's unforgettable songs will come to life once again with Emre Altuğ's voice.

The concert will be held on Wednesday evening, March 13, at 20.30 at the İş Towers Hall.

A MUSICAL JOURNEY TO THE ANCIENT CITY OF PATARA: PAT PAT PATARA

İş Sanat’s musical children's play "Pat Pat Patara" invites young theater lovers to the İş Towers Hall. Written by Yekta Kopan and directed by Lerzan Pamir, the play, set in the Ancient City of Patara, will offer its audience a fun adventure. The play will be staged on Sunday, March 10, at 15.00 at the İş Towers Hall.

In the play, which begins with the riddle, "It finds and brings out the knowledge of the past. It carries old values to the present," archaeologist Aslı leads Efe, Defne, and their classmates on a unique journey into the mysterious atmosphere of the Ancient City of Patara.

The cast includes Özge Fışkın, Şeyla Halis Çiçekdemir, Baran Güler, Mert Aydın, Derman Çinkılıç, Elif Gizem Aykul, Emrecan Karakum, İrem Kayakököz, and Mehmet Berker Korkmaz. The music for the play was composed by Tolga Çebi, while the set design belongs to Merve Yörük and the costume design to Gül Sağer.

Recommended for audiences aged 4 and over, the play will bring young theater lovers together with the curiosity and excitement-filled surprises of history.

MARCH'S SHINING STARS: AHMET TÜMKAYA AND PELİN ECE ACAR

İş Sanat’s "Shining Stars" concerts, which aim to support musicians at the beginning of their careers by offering them stage experience, continue with recitals by Ahmet Tümkaya (bassoon) and Pelin Ece Acar (piano). The free concerts start at 20.30 at the İş Towers Hall.

BEETHOVEN AND MORE

Violin virtuoso, composer, and comedian Aleksey Igudesman, who knows no bounds in creativity, will meet the İş Sanat audience with a special concert titled "Beethoven and More," prepared exclusively for İş Sanat. In the concert, prepared specifically for İş Sanat on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the composition of Ludwig van Beethoven’s final work, the 9th Symphony, Igudesman will set sail for new routes using the symphony as a compass.

The concert, conducted by Igudesman, will feature the Romanian National Youth Orchestra and the Boğaziçi Jazz Choir, as well as Futurelove Sibanda, Senem Demircioğlu, and Cenk Erdoğan.

The concert will take place on Tuesday, April 16, at 20.30 at the Atatürk Cultural Center, Türk Telekom Opera Hall.

ANIMA MUSICAE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA IS COMING

On the 100th Anniversary of the Friendship Agreement, the Hungarian ensemble Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra is at İş Sanat.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Agreement signed in 1923, İş Sanat will host the Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra, founded by distinguished musicians from the Franz Liszt Academy, and the famous Hungarian-born violinist Gwendolyn Masin on Wednesday, April 17, at 20.30 at the İş Towers Hall.

'HEP BARABAR' CONCERT

İş Sanat is hosting a very special concert in its April program. Barabar, with Taner Ölmez as the lead singer and famous actor Serkan Keskin on bass guitar, will be on stage at the İş Towers Hall on Friday evening, April 5, at 20.30 with the "Hep Barabar" concert.

Performing beloved folk songs like "Feridem" and "Lingo Lingo" with their unique interpretation, Barabar will also host actress Demet Evgar on stage at their concert in the İş Towers Hall. In addition to Taner Ölmez and Serkan Keskin, "Barabar" features Caner Malkoç, Cihan Tanrıverdi, Fırat İkisivri, Özgür Taş, Serkan Polat, and Sibel Altan.

THERE WILL BE A TANGO SHOW

The tango dance ensemble "Forever Tango," which has performed the most on Broadway, will meet the İş Sanat audience for the first time with a show to be held on Thursday, May 23, at 20.30 at the İş Towers Hall.

The tango ensemble Forever Tango, which masterfully brings Argentina's passionate music and dance to the stage, consists of 12 dancers and 9 musicians.
