Radikal Tahammülsüz meets the audience: 'A show that does not bow down'

Having premiered on November 28, 2023, at Baba Sahne, 'Radikal Tahammülsüz' continues to meet its audience with new performances in the new year.

The play will be staged at the Istanbul Ses Theatre on Tuesday, February 20, and at the Yunus Emre Cultural Center on Wednesday, February 21.

Devised by Enver Aysever and Haluk Polat in memory of Ferhan Şensoy, the stage show, featuring jokes and dance, both makes the audience laugh and cry, provides plenty of food for thought, and touches minds and hearts.

SATIRIZING TURKEY'S SOCIAL LIFE

'Radikal Tahammülsüz' is a colorful show filled with laughter and sharp wit that satirizes Turkey's social life from the 80s to the present, refreshes memories, sings its original songs out loud, and intertwines cabaret and meddah (traditional storyteller) culture.

Taking its audience through a time tunnel to refresh their memories, the play also features the 'Intolerant Choir' (Tahammülsüzler Korosu), which draws its courage from the audience and builds a completely different, festive world for them, complete with music and lyrics.

Emphasizing that it has no tolerance for lies, the show insists on speaking its radical truths, which have remained unchanged throughout every era.

'A SHOW WITH SONGS AND DANCE'

Journalist and author Enver Aysever, who positions himself as a contemporary "meddah," said of the play 'Radikal Tahammülsüz' he wrote: "This is a call... Please, those who think they are alone should watch it; I think you will immediately want to join us... A show with songs, dance, jokes, laughter, and one that does not bow down. The show also sheds light on why I am 'Radically Intolerant'."
