TEV commemorates Ferdi Özbeğen on his 85th birthday with two special video projects

The Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) has commemorated its donor and one of the unforgettable names of Turkish music, Ferdi Özbeğen, on his 85th birthday with two special video projects. These works aim to connect the artist's musical legacy and his support for education with younger generations.

Özbeğen, who left a mark on memories with his unique interpretation and white piano, donated all his assets and his famous white piano, which held great sentimental value for him, to TEV to support education before his passing. The scholarship fund created in the artist's name contributes to the educational journeys of students.

In the first video prepared by TEV, archival footage of Özbeğen at his white piano is combined with images of young people currently continuing their education. The project features the piano solo from the artist's rendition of "Menekşelendi Sular."

By blending archival footage with AI-supported scenes of education, work, and graduation, the video illustrates how Özbeğen's influence, which began with music, has transformed into a legacy that continues in the educational lives of young people years later.

In the second video project, Ferdi Özbeğen's works were reinterpreted by young musicians who are TEV scholarship recipients. Fatma Ece Ergün, a master's student in the Piano Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, and İlayda Helvacı, a student at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, performed the artist's iconic songs.

Through these two projects, TEV emphasized that Özbeğen's legacy, which began with art and grew through his support for education, continues to touch the dreams and futures of young people.
