The new season concert program for the CRR Concert Hall has been announced

Volkan Aslan, Head of the IMM Department of Culture, speaking at a press conference held at CRR, stated that in the first 9 months of 2023, IMM orchestras met with audiences through 239 concerts, and that 1,428 concerts were organized on IMM stages, in streets, and in squares.

Pointing out that they have launched the "Support Scholarship for Young Musicians" project for young musicians, Aslan said, "We provided training to 33 students for 3 months at the CRR Composition Academy, and we also carried out training programs for the musicians of the future with the 'Masterclass' project we conducted with world-renowned musicians."

Volkan Aslan stated that they opened the doors of IMM stages to children's and adult plays as well as private theaters in the first 9 months of last year, and noted the following:

"While increasing the number of our art venues and diversifying their functions, we also aim to share them by opening them to the use of art initiatives and collectives in the city. In the first 9 months of 2023, we did not settle for allocating our existing halls 460 times to cultural and art institutions, associations, and independent artists in line with our policy of civilianization; we are also carrying out work to bring the IMM Culture and Art Focus, which will be the first stop of civilianization under the name of a 'new generation culture center,' to life.

In our city, where spaces for independent artists to produce and present their works are limited, the IMM Culture and Art Focus, built as a structure that flexibly houses different functions where theater actors, musicians, painters, contemporary artists, and dancers can rehearse and exhibit their art, will be the first example of a civilianized culture and art approach in Istanbul.

It will include a 2,200-person multi-purpose grand hall, a 600-person theater hall, a Black Box, 4 rehearsal stages for private theaters, music rehearsal studios that also have recording facilities for musicians, a library, co-working spaces, and workshops that will be offered for the use of all city residents."

'THEY WILL COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD'

CRR General Artistic Director Murat Cem Orhan said, "Throughout the past seasons, with your support and interest, we have hosted many important national and international concerts and music events. This year, we have prepared a program where we will host different colors of art and world-famous names coming from all over the world."

At the meeting, IMM Cultural Events Manager Gülayşe Eken also provided information about the programs.

Among the names who will give concerts at the CRR in the new season are Spanish violinist Leticia Moreno, one of the leading pianists of the jazz world Antonio Farao, Azerbaijani musician Alafsar Rahimov, and Portugal's rising fado star Sara Correia.
