12 people arrested in Peyzaj A.Ş. investigation
12 people referred to court in the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) subsidiary Peyzaj A.Ş. have been arrested, while 8 others were released.
12 of the 23 suspects detained as part of the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) subsidiary Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş. have been arrested by the court.
A new investigation had been launched into the İBB by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Investigations into alleged actions carried out within the scope of the activities of a criminal organization purportedly established under the leadership of Ekrem İmamoğlu revealed that a fraudulent tender system was operated through the İBB subsidiary Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş. to rig tenders. In an operation coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch to apprehend the suspects, 29 individuals were detained, and an arrest warrant was issued for one suspect identified as being abroad. 7 of the suspects were released. The other 23 suspects were taken to Bayrampaşa State Hospital following their processing at the police station. After undergoing health checks, the suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
Of the 24 suspects referred to the courthouse, judicial control was requested for Alkan B., Ekrem O., Fatih Y., and Yasin Ç. S., while the arrest of 20 suspects was requested from the Criminal Judgeship of Peace.
Of the suspects brought before the court, Ayhan S., Aytekin K., Binali S., Derya D., Orhan Y., Selim M., Süleyman U., Fatih T., Muammer A.Ö., Nilgün C., and Tolga K. were arrested. A judicial control decision was issued for the other 12 suspects.
