12punto columnist Doğan Satmış had written it: The person he named has become the leader of Hamas
12punto columnist Doğan Satmış had written in his column titled 'Who is the Hamas leader Israel is really looking for?' that Yahya Sinwar would be the new leader of Hamas.
Hamas's leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau following Ismail Haniyeh.
Following this development, 12punto columnist Doğan Satmış had stated in his column that Yahya Sinwar would become the new Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau after Haniyeh.
Doğan Satmış had used the following expressions in the relevant section of his column titled 'Who is the Hamas leader Israel is really looking for?':
''In The New Yorker magazine, there is a long article about who the new leader of Hamas will be after the Haniyeh assassination and about the leadership candidate Yahya Sinwar.
To be honest, I had never heard the name Yahya Sinwar; it turns out that the life of 62-year-old Sinwar has been spent fighting against Israel, he is the name behind the October 7 organization and the one who planned it, he had even given clues about this in advance, and while Israel was leaving no stone unturned in Gaza and flattening everything, they were actually looking for him and still haven't been able to find his trail.
Yahya Sinwar is thought to be hiding in the tunnels of Khan Yunis.
Sinwar's life began under the pressure of the Israeli regime, then he spent 22 years in Israeli prisons, during which time Israeli doctors saved him from death by removing a mass from his brain; when he was released a few years ago during a prisoner exchange, he became one of the most important leaders of Hamas, and those taken hostage in the October 7 attacks also recount seeing him.
In fact, when you read the article, you also feel that Haniyeh was not as important for Hamas as he was perceived to be, and that the truly important person is Yahya Sinwar.''
