15-year-old Eren Gündoğdu, who was reportedly working as an intern at a construction site in the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ, has died after being electrocuted.
The incident occurred at a construction site currently under development in the Kızılpınar Namık Kemal neighborhood. According to DHA, Gündoğdu was severely injured after being struck by an electric current while pulling cables at the site.
Upon notification, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Gündoğdu was taken to Çerkezköy State Hospital following initial intervention, but could not be saved despite all efforts by doctors.
Gündoğdu's relatives, who received the news of his death, were overcome with grief in front of the hospital. His body was taken to the Tekirdağ Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy procedures.
The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the incident.
