4 people detained during trustee protest in Van

While reactions continue against the appointment of a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality, the Ministry of Interior announced that trustees have also been appointed to Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti. Reactions to the trustee appointments are pouring in from all over the country. One of the locations for these protests was Van.
Police intervened in the crowd that gathered in Van. 4 people were detained.

The crowd, which gathered following a call by the DEM Party Van Provincial Organization and the Van Labor and Democracy Platform, came together at Van Art Street. The press statement was attended by Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Abdullah Zeydan and Neslihan Şendal, DEM Party MP Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit, district mayors, and numerous other individuals.
Following the conclusion of the press statement, the crowd was intervened with pepper spray. As a result of the ensuing scuffle, 4 people were detained.
