In Mersin, 877 kilograms of small ruminant offal, determined to be transported without a waybill or veterinary health report, were seized during an inspection conducted by gendarmerie teams on the highway.
Teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command stopped a pickup truck on suspicion during a road control operation they were conducting on the Mersin Highway in the direction of Adana, at the Yenice location. An examination of the vehicle revealed that the offal was being transported under conditions violating hygiene regulations.
An administrative fine was imposed by teams from the Tarsus District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Highway Gendarmerie Command regarding the incident. The seized offal was destroyed by teams from the Tarsus District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
