974 unlicensed weapons seized in 73 provinces, 1,131 suspects detained
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on X that 974 weapons were seized and 1,131 suspects were detained across 73 provinces as part of the Mercek-12 operations.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the Mercek-12 operations on X.
Yerlikaya stated the following:
"In the 'MERCEK-12' operations, which have been ongoing for 4 days against individuals carrying unlicensed weapons and arms smugglers in 73 provinces, a total of 974 weapons were seized, including 710 unlicensed pistols, 60 pistols converted from blank-firing guns, 23 long-barreled rifles, and 181 unlicensed hunting rifles. 1,131 suspects were detained and handed over to justice."
