Access to akpden.com blocked on grounds of national security and public order
The website akpden.com, which publishes content regarding 'tax injustices and the sale processes of public assets' as announced by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, has been blocked from access on the grounds of 'protecting national security and public order.'
An access block has been imposed on 'akpden.com,' which was launched by the CHP to draw attention to tax injustice.
In a statement made by the Freedom of Expression Association, it was stated that the site in question was blocked from access on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.
The following was included in the statement made by the association:
"The akpden.com site, which publishes content regarding tax injustices and the sale processes of public assets as announced by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, has been blocked from access on the grounds of protecting national security and public order."
ACCESS BLOCK TO AKPDEN.COM: 'WE WILL REOPEN IT UNDER ANOTHER NAME'
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel used the following expressions regarding the access block in question during a live broadcast he attended:
“An access ban has been placed on akpden.com. Currently, there is only this on the site. It has not been notified and shut down yet. It is allegedly threatening national security. The decision has arrived; it will be closed in a day or two. We will reopen it under another name. We were going to show the excessive taxes; computers, cars... The men are putting a block on this.
To resist this coup, you must risk everything. Look at what has happened to us... We have necessarily risked these things. No matter what they do. After all, while our companions have entered 12-square-meter spaces, none of us... every kind of attack, slander, threat... We have risked everything. No matter what they do. We derive our power and strength not from the constitution, the internal regulations, or immunity; but from being the chairman of the CHP. This has a great price. Let those who are willing to pay this price come forward.”
