The repercussions of the arrest of CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer and the appointment of a trustee in his place continue.

After Özer was arrested, the CHP called on its mayors and invited them to the rally in Esenyurt. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, and Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal did not attend the rally.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated that the mayors who did not attend the rally had provided excuses, saying, "Mr. Mansur attended another event organized with the same sentiment as ours afterward. When you tell mayors to be somewhere one day later, they may not always have the opportunity to be there. We are extremely respectful of important excuses. It is not just 3 mayors. Perhaps 60 percent of our mayors could not attend. This is not a failure to comply with the call, but a necessity to not disrupt the public duties they perform."
