Statement on stray animals from AKP's Efkan Ala: 'This problem will be solved effectively'
AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala said regarding the regulation on stray animals, "We will likely see the new law before Parliament goes on recess. This problem will be solved effectively."
AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala held a chat meeting with journalists at the party headquarters.
Addressing the legislative work regarding stray animals, Ala stated that "there cannot be stray dogs on the streets."
'THIS PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED IN SOME WAY'
Stating that they are following exemplary practices around the world on this issue and taking into account the views of all segments of society, Ala used the following expressions:
"It is the job of the state and municipalities to ensure safety on the streets. They are mauling people; we cannot remain spectators to this. Tourism companies abroad are issuing 'rabies danger' warnings for tours to Turkey. This picture does not suit Turkey. This problem will be solved effectively. We will likely see the new law before Parliament goes on recess. Our will is complete regarding the issue of stray animals, which is seen as a problem area by both the government and the opposition."
According to Article 93 of the Constitution and Article 5 of the Rules of Procedure of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Parliament is scheduled to go on recess on Monday, July 1, 2024.
