Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that Police Officer Halil İbrahim Kuzkun, serving in the Gaziantep Riot Police Branch Directorate, has been martyred.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that Kuzkun was seriously injured on July 10, 2024, when a capsule stuck in a gas launcher struck his face while he was providing training at the Gaziantep Police Vocational Training Center (POMEM).

It was stated that Kuzkun was taken to the hospital and, despite all interventions, could not be saved and was martyred. Yerlikaya said, "I wish God's mercy upon our martyr; I offer my condolences to his grieving family, our heroic Police Department, and our Nation. May his place be high."
