Alihan Kuriş’s method of secrecy revealed: He used someone else’s phone line

New details continue to emerge regarding Alihan Kuriş, the leader of the Süleymancılar, who was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that Kuriş acted with secrecy measures and used phone lines registered in the names of others to avoid being tracked.

In a statement from the Organized Crime Investigation Bureau, it was stated that it was determined Kuriş used a GSM line registered to a person named A.K., who is insured at the company named Göknur Gıda, for which a precautionary measure was taken regarding his 13.43 percent share.

The statement also alleged that Kuriş provided “false statements” in his testimonies to the police and the prosecutor’s office. It was stated that these findings are being evaluated within the scope of the ongoing investigation file.

In an operation carried out last week as part of the investigation, many people, including Alihan Kuriş, were detained. Search and seizure operations were conducted at a total of 123 addresses, including 43 addresses belonging to the suspects and 80 addresses belonging to 33 companies.

Of the 38 suspects detained, 32 were arrested. An investigation is being conducted against the suspects for the crimes of “establishing and managing a criminal organization,” “being a member of a criminal organization,” “laundering assets derived from crime,” “fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations,” and “violation of the Tax Procedure Law.”
