Ankara Governor's Office imposes 15-day ban on miners' protests

The Ankara Governor's Office has issued a 15-day ban targeting mine workers who were planning to gather in the capital to continue their pursuit of rights. The decision covers activities such as protests, demonstrations, marches, and press statements.

With the Governor's decision, it was announced that all protests and events to be organized by mine workers across the city will be prohibited for 15 days.

The ban decision came following a call made by the Independent Mine Workers Union (Bağımsız Maden İş Sendikası) on its social media account. The union had announced that the mine workers who were detained following police intervention had been released after a detention period of approximately 12 hours.

In the statement, it was noted that the miners would gather again in front of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources today at 11:00. It was reported that security measures in the area have been increased following the Governor's decision.
