Another femicide; he called the police and said, 'I did it by accident.'

While debates continue following the withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, with critics arguing that laws fail to protect women and that violence against women and femicides are on the rise, the cycle of violence and murder continues to occur every day.

The incident that took place this morning occurred in the Nine Hatun neighborhood of Esenler, Istanbul. According to allegations, Adem Muslu (48) began arguing with his wife, Güler Muslu (49).

Following the argument, Adem Muslu shot his wife, Güler Muslu, with a firearm. Adem Muslu then called 112 and claimed that he had shot his wife by accident.

Medical teams arriving at the scene determined that the woman, who was lying on the ground covered in blood, had lost her life, while police teams took Adem Muslu into custody.
