Apprentice tortured with compressor in Şanlıurfa: Journeyman arrested
In the Bozova district of Şanlıurfa, Habip Aksoy, a journeyman who subjected 15-year-old apprentice M.K. to violence using a compressor, has been arrested and sent to prison. M.K. remains in critical condition.
In a horrific incident that took place yesterday in the Bozova district of Şanlıurfa, 15-year-old M.K., who works as an apprentice at a carpentry workshop, was subjected to severe violence by journeyman Habip Aksoy and an unidentified individual.
According to allegations, M.K. was incapacitated after his hands were tied for an unknown reason. Subsequently, his pants were forcibly removed, and high-pressure air from a compressor was directed into his rectum. Following the incident, M.K. collapsed, and medical teams were dispatched upon notification by witnesses.
TRANSFERRED TO HOSPITAL, CONDITION SERIOUS
Initial intervention for M.K. was performed at Bozova Mehmet Enver Yıldırım State Hospital. M.K., whose condition was critical, was later transferred to Balıklıgöl State Hospital. It was reported that M.K., who was subsequently referred to Harran University Research and Application Hospital, suffered severe damage to his internal organs and remains in life-threatening condition. M.K. has been placed under treatment in intensive care.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR JOURNEYMAN
Following the incident, journeyman Habip Aksoy, who tortured M.K., was taken into custody by the Bozova District Police Department. Initially, the court decided to release Aksoy under judicial control. However, following public outcry on social media and from the family, a new arrest warrant was issued for him.
APPREHENDED UNDER SECURITY MEASURES
Aksoy was apprehended by police teams while attempting to flee to Gaziantep. The suspect was arrested by the duty magistrate to whom he was referred under heavy security measures and was sent to prison.
