Arrested over abuse allegations... Child's mother: 'She has no ill intent'

TikTok user Duygu Özgül Kalebayır, who forced her 5-year-old cousin to kiss her on the lips while saying, "I love lips," has been arrested and sent to prison, prompting family members to speak out. The child's father stated, "It's not the kissing, it's the facial expressions that are repulsive."

TikTok user Duygu Özgül Kalebayır recorded and shared moments of herself kissing her 5-year-old cousin on her account. These images quickly went viral, and the backlash grew like an avalanche.

ARRESTED

Following the backlash, the Nevşehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action. The child's family gave statements, and although the family did not file a complaint, the child was taken into state protection. Özgül was arrested on charges of sexual abuse.

Her mobile phone was also seized for examination.

'IT'S NOT THE KISSING, IT'S THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS THAT ARE REPULSIVE'

Finally, Özgül's mother and the child's father spoke to Ekol Tv. The child's father said, "When I first saw the video, I, like everyone else, was bothered by the facial expressions. There is no problem with the kissing, but because she made those expressions, it was perceived as abuse; otherwise, I would certainly never expect or think such a thing from Duygu."

The mother also stated, "We were psychologically affected; we could not have predicted that the incident would reach these dimensions. The video is already old. We were all there when the video was taken. When she took the video, I was there, her uncle was there, and her aunt was there. My child has no ill intent; it was just out of love."
