Bahçeli's 'junta' reaction to Özel: 'It is the delusion of a pathetic person with potential coup-mongering tendencies'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli issued a written statement regarding the current agenda. His targets were both the CHP's extraordinary congress held on Sunday and Özgür Özel, who was re-elected as chairman.

Targeting Özgür Özel, Bahçeli said, "The hate-filled language and the extremely distorted and incoherent style of the CHP Chairman have reached a painful level that is as regrettable for our country and nation as it is poisonous to democratic culture."

Commenting on the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress, Bahçeli stated, "The underhanded tactics that recurred at every stage of the aforementioned April 6 Congress, the gossip and slander campaigns put into circulation, and the schemes and intrigues that turned into an open storm have made its moral and democratic legitimacy, if not its legal legitimacy, a matter of debate."

Closing the door on calls for early elections, Bahçeli said, "No one should waste their time collecting signatures and dreaming of early elections. The joint will of the People's Alliance is for elections to be held on time, and this will is final."

Bahçeli's statements are as follows:

"Political subversion, and a blur of discourse and action inspired by anti-Turkish sentiment, have permeated the management level of this party from A to Z like a cancer cell. The hate-filled language and the extremely distorted and incoherent style of the CHP Chairman have reached a painful level that is as regrettable for our country and nation as it is poisonous to democratic culture. Turkey is certainly not condemned or deserving of such a dirty, incompetent, and spiteful opposition mentality, especially a licensed political structure that harbors anti-national and fascist characteristics to its core. The CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress took place within the scope of a suspicious and remote-controlled scenario that was obvious from the start, and likely under the pressure, arrangement, and influence of internal and external circles planning against our country.

The underhanded tactics that recurred at every stage of the aforementioned April 6 Congress, the gossip and slander campaigns put into circulation, and the schemes and intrigues that turned into an open storm have made its moral and democratic legitimacy, if not its legal legitimacy, a matter of debate. It has become clearly understood and clarified into which dark point of history a party that imposes economic boycotts on its own country and nation, takes a stand against domestic and national capital, and more gravely, attacks the daily earnings, livelihood, sustenance, and lawful gains of the people, is tumbling headlong in the current process. The CHP Chairman and his administration have entered the same frame as Zionist and imperialist barbarism, united in the same ambitions and goals, and have sharpened their knives against Turkey.

BOYCOTT CALLS

The call for a boycott and to take to the streets has clarified how ready the CHP is to set our nation and country on fire for the sake of its political ambitions. Indeed, while the CHP has brought the card of hostility to the field to stop consumption, it has essentially accelerated its own process of political, intellectual, and moral exhaustion. The visible truth is this: The competition for rent, status, and political interest occurring between Saraçhane, Söğütözü, and Silivri; and even the polarization and conflict state that is constantly deepening and intensifying between factions in this vein, has served the purpose of bending our internal peace, national security, and social tranquility to the breaking point.

The CHP has fallen into the position of being a spokesperson for illegal marginal groups and a lookout for enemies of Turkey. This shameful picture, which makes one recoil, has tragically registered that a party has become a subcontractor and a turning wheel for foreign powers instead of engaging in politics. The speech given by the ambitious Chairman of the CHP at the April 6 Congress carried no meaning beyond a manifesto of crudeness, filth, and ugliness in its essence.

REACTION TO 'JUNTA' REMARK

The slander of calling our President a 'junta leader' is entirely a mental blackout, a lack of intelligence, a lack of common sense, and the delusion of a pathetic person with potential coup-mongering tendencies who cannot tolerate the light of truth and national will. When the painful pages of our political history are flipped, and when the national memory is patiently deciphered, it will be seen that the word 'junta' finds its exact equivalent in the CHP and fits its political template. To say junta is to say CHP, and there is no one who does not know this.

It is known to every person with a conscience what is passing through the minds and imaginations of those who deem this vile slander worthy of our President, and how the longing for anti-democratic periods has resurfaced. If the CHP Chairman is looking for coup-mongers, he should take off the democracy mask that grins on his face and wears thin after every national event and look in the mirror, or read the hostage history of the CHP, which is famous for being a single-party regime, built upon military boots. This person insists on walking the path with circles he aspires to serve as a pawn.

Attempting to question the legitimacy of our President, and not stopping there but accusing him of being a junta supporter, is nothing other than a form of coup-mongering. The Turkish nation, which buried the treacherous FETÖ uprising of July 15 with its own will, has personally ended the era of coups in Turkey with its own sacred blood. If there are those who cannot learn from this reality, if those who aspire to a coup against our President and our government are to emerge with the call of the CHP, it is our duty to warn and caution them that they should be prepared for an end more pathetic than July 15. The Turkish nation will never allow shackles to be placed on its will, and will not permit the harassment and destruction of its internal front.

TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL: 'I INVITE YOU TO WATCH YOUR STEP'

Whoever or whoever thinks of interfering with our democracy and the national will should know that they will be leveled by the power of the Turkish nation; this is countless and infinitely beneficial to know, and it is clear. I invite the choir of democracy and law opponents, led by the CHP Chairman, to refrain from vulgar statements made with irresponsibility and the panic of guilt, to watch their step, and to remain calm. In these days when we are moving step by step towards the goal of a Turkey without terrorism, everyone must be more careful with what they say. In a period when our region and the world are going through difficult days, no mercy or tolerance will ever be shown to bankrupt, extremist, and hypocritical political peddlers who try to shake our internal front and open gaps.

EARLY ELECTIONS

We know and believe that; the Turkish nation will continue to see its future in the People's Alliance and preserve the cherished blessings of living as brothers, not in political Jacobins and a greedy and treacherous mob whose soul is that of a coup-monger. No one should waste their time collecting signatures and dreaming of early elections. Our President, who was elected with the overwhelming support of the Turkish nation, and the Presidential Cabinet are on duty. The joint will of the People's Alliance is for elections to be held on time, and this will is final. At the same time, our determination to reach the goals of the Turkish and Turkey Century is very strong. It is time for service, time for action, time for reform, time for rise, time for embracing, and time to solve social and economic issues in line with the expectations and demands of our beloved nation."
