Ban on protests and demonstrations in İzmir

The İzmir Governor's Office has announced that all protest activities, including meetings, marches, and press statements, have been banned across the city for five days, effective from 10:00 a.m. on March 21.

In the statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was stated that the decision was taken to maintain public order and prevent provocative actions. The statement included the following:

“In accordance with the decision taken by our Governor's Office, in order to maintain public order throughout the province, ensure the life and property safety of our citizens, ensure the neutralization of the plans of terrorist organizations, and prevent potential provocative actions, all kinds of meetings, demonstration marches, press statements, protests, signature campaigns, and similar activities have been banned for a period of 5 (five) days, from 10:00 on 21.03.2025 to 23:59 on 25.03.2025.”
