Breaking News: Dervişoğlu slams Bahçeli over 'I will go to İmralı' remark: 'Remember, your name is just Devlet, you are not the state!'

Group meetings of political parties continue in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Yesterday, the MHP, DEM Party, and CHP held their group meetings.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's declaration that "If necessary, I will go to İmralı" has dominated the political agenda and sparked reactions from the nationalist front. İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu had previously responded to Bahçeli's İmralı remark with two words: "Let him go."

Dervişoğlu harshly criticized Bahçeli, who had asked his party for permission to go to İmralı.

Dervişoğlu's speech is as follows:

"What has he done until now that he asked for your permission, that he is asking for permission today?

It seems he could not get permission from the President, so he tried to ask for permission from those in the hall. What a pity!

It is clear that their longing will not end without an embrace. That is why, let them go, friends!

This account will not be left for the Day of Judgment; the day will surely, absolutely come in this world when it is asked. This nation will do what is necessary. The example they took from Mustafa Kemal is limited to setting foot somewhere. When he set foot in Samsun, he was not stepping onto a pier, but onto independence. Atatürk forced the enemy he defeated in Mudanya to sign an armistice; these people are trying to go from Mudanya to embrace a helpless traitor. While they never let the names of the heroes who boarded the Bandırma ferry off their tongues, they are dying to board the İmralı ferry. They are not ashamed to throw a lifebuoy to a finished, exhausted terrorist organization and its ringleader.

What is this about going with 3 friends? I will say it again, do not hold these İmralı travelers back. Let them go.

The fact that Öcalan is being stripped of his image as a baby killer and brought to the agenda as a leader or even a guide figure is not a situation without reason; this transformation is not an individual image rehabilitation, but part of a political engineering project.

Bahçeli's statement that he will build a new identity also carries the clues of an ideological new construct, not just a rhetorical outburst in this context.

If this process is truly part of a planned identity construction, the goal is not only to change Öcalan's position but to redefine Turkey's national identity definition, its understanding of unity, and even the ideological backbone of the state. Many things will change in the coming days; the saying 'I hope Turkey does not change' also belongs to Devlet Bahçeli.

It must never be forgotten that Turkey's future fits neither into the narcissism of İmralı's bloody thoughts nor between the lines of a political tactic. That future will live in the conscience of the Turkish nation and in the heart of Ankara.

The government must not fall for this game. The parties involved in the commission must not fall into this trap. This middle play must definitely come to an end.
