The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation into YENİ Party Antalya Deputy Mustafa Erdem on charges of "bribery."
It was reported that the investigation was opened following allegations that money was taken from the detained Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek with the "promise of release."
It was stated that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting the investigation within the scope of the crime of bribery, as regulated in Article 252 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237.
