Brought to the courthouse for testimony: First images of Tuncay Sonel in months

In the Gülistan Doku case, the then-Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel, his protection officer Şükrü Eroğlu, and retired police officer Gökhan Ertok were brought first to Erzurum City Hospital and then to the Erzurum Courthouse in the morning hours. The process of taking their testimony is ongoing.

In line with new evidence obtained within the scope of the file, the then-Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel, who is currently detained in Erzurum prison, along with protection officer Şükrü Eroğlu and former police officer Gökhan Ertok, were taken from prison under heavy security measures to provide additional testimony to the prosecutor's office conducting the investigation, and were transferred to the Erzurum Courthouse following a check-up at the hospital.

In the Gülistan Doku case, WhatsApp correspondence containing illegal technical surveillance and interference with digital data had been detected between former Governor Tuncay Sonel and Gökhan Ertok. MASAK investigations had documented that financial transfers were made to Gökhan Ertok via the bank account of protection officer Şükrü Eroğlu in exchange for these activities.
