Call from Şamil Tayyar to President Erdoğan: 'Put them in the bastinado'; how good it would be

Former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar has issued a call to President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, arguing that there is a "strange disarray" in many areas ranging from politics to bureaucracy.

Tayyar stated that if those who "mistake their shadow for their own greatness" were "lined up for a beating, put in the bastinado, or thrown out" by Erdoğan, everyone would come to their senses.

In a post on his social media account, Tayyar said, "It is as if everyone is playing a different tune; they are not synchronized.

They are clashing with one another." Claiming that some segments have "established their own autonomous structures" and are "calculating for the future," Tayyar said, "They want to turn the opportunity into spoils. They are settling their own private scores."

Stating that his assessment was meant "metaphorically," Tayyar argued that Erdoğan should take a firm stance against those who "mistake their shadow for their own greatness," starting from his closest circle.

There is a strange disarray in politics, in bureaucracy, and in many areas of life.
