ÇEDES continues unabated: Woman's face blurred, students made to clean mosque
Activities under the ÇEDES protocol continue unabated. While students in many cities are being taken out of school and brought to mosques, they are also being made to listen to religious talks in dormitories. In one event in Yozgat, a woman's face was blurred.
Activities continue across the country under the “I Am Sensitive to My Environment, I Protect My Values (ÇEDES)” protocol, signed between the Ministry of National Education (MEB), the Presidency of Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
According to a report by Berkay Sağol from BirGün, Isparta was among the leading cities where students were most frequently taken out of school and brought to mosques.
In Isparta, students from Çünür TOKİ Primary School were taken to the Çünür Central Mosque. In Gönen, kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th-grade students were taken to a mosque and made to pray.
Students from Aksu Multi-Program Anatolian High School were also taken to visit the Yenice Mosque. A post regarding the visit of students from Eğirdir Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School to a mosque included the following statement: “As part of the ÇEDES project, we held our ‘We are at the mosque for prayer time once a week’ activity with our students at the Şeyh Burhanettin Mosque.”
"THE FACE OF THE WOMAN GIVING THE SPEECH WAS BLURRED"
In one of the events held under the ÇEDES Protocol, a woman gave a speech on stage. In a social media post about the event, it was observed that the face of the woman giving the speech had been blurred.
In addition to being taken to mosques, students also participated in religious talks in the dormitories where they stay. Female students staying at the girls' dormitory of Yozgat Sorgun Martyr Nusrat Atmaca Girls' Anatolian Imam Hatip High School participated in a “values education” program. Students from Yozgat Erdoğan M. Akdağ Secondary School were also made to pray in a mosque and listen to religious talks.
THEY TARGETED LAUSANNE
In October, students from Gülten Ali Ziyan Anatolian High School in Osmaniye visited Cezmi Yurtsever as part of an “Etiquette, respect, courtesy” activity. In 2019, Yurtsever had stated, “Niyazi Ramazanoğlu is a name who was also present as a bureaucrat during the Lausanne negotiations. After the Turkish delegation returned to Turkey, Niyazi Ramazanoğlu criticized İsmet İnönü and the Treaty of Lausanne, saying, ‘Turkey lost the gains it achieved in the War of Independence by failing to secure them in Lausanne.’”
STUDENTS MADE TO CLEAN MOSQUE
“Consciousness talks” that began in October are being held at the İzmit Evliya Çelebi Anatolian Imam Hatip High School. It is stated that a different topic will be discussed each month in the talks, which are aimed at 9th and 10th-grade students, and that the presentations will be made by vocational course teacher Cemil Koral. Meanwhile, students from the Bulanık Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in the Bulanık district of Muş cleaned a mosque.
