CHP Chairman Özel: We promise to come to power

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel arrived in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya for the opening of the 14th Gazipaşa Seedless Pomegranate and Tropical Fruit Festival held this year.

Meeting with party members at the CHP party building, Özel said, "I came to Gazipaşa as chairman on March 18, 13 days before the local elections. There was a demand for a primary election, one of the most important elements of our party democracy, in Gazipaşa before the election.

Our current mayor was also the mayor at that time, and he became our candidate by winning the primary. Polls showed that we would win the election in Gazipaşa. On March 31, we won Gazipaşa again. We won Antalya once more. We also introduced 16 districts in Antalya to CHP municipal governance.

Our party became the leading party in the local elections in Turkey. Now, there will be a general election in the coming years. We want to maintain our success in this election as well and come to power. We will achieve this through the diligent work of our organizations. We promise to come to power, saying that there is a solution to all of Turkey's problems; and that solution is the Republican People's Party," he said.

Following his speech, Özel and the party members took a commemorative photo after the program at the party building.
