CHP's Günaydın points to intent to shut down their party: 'They mean for you to file the case and the Constitutional Court to close it'

Following the completion of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) indictment, while almost everyone began evaluating the accusations written in the indictment, statements came from the CHP front suggesting that their party was intended to be closed down through this indictment.

While these reactions from CHP figures were denied by a statement claiming that disinformation was being spread, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın expressed that their concerns were not unfounded through a post he made.

In his statement, where he pointed to the end of the letter sent by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the Court of Cassation Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Günaydın used the following expressions:

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which said in a statement yesterday that “news regarding the closure of the CHP is disinformation,” ends the letter it sent to the Court of Cassation Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the same day as follows;

“Since it is understood that the Republican People's Party has intervened in a systematic and continuous manner to affect the reliability of elections held nationwide and locally, the will of the voter, and the democratic order, it is submitted for your information to take the necessary action and assessment regarding the Republican People's Party in accordance with Articles 68 and 69 of the Constitution and Articles 101 and subsequent articles of the Law on Political Parties No. 2820.”

In other words;

*Let me write to you,

*You file the case,

*They mean for the Constitutional Court to close it..

Walking the same path as Kenan Evren will benefit no one.

Stop straining the country; if you are capable, try to win the consent of the citizens.

We will not allow you to weave politics through courthouse corridors.

Long live the Republican People's Party, long live the national will..
