Two people were apprehended within the scope of the large-scale investigation launched following the attack.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the two suspects who carried out the armed attack have been captured.

Sources known for their proximity to the terrorist organization ISIS claimed that "ISIS has taken responsibility for the church attack."
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack via the Amaq News Agency.
In the statement, it was noted that the suspects retreated safely after the attack, and it was stated that the attack was carried out in response to the call by ISIS leaders to target Jews and Christians everywhere.
