The Republican People's Party (CHP) held its 21st Extraordinary Congress yesterday (April 6). Özgür Özel, who entered the election as the sole candidate, was re-elected as chairman with 1,171 votes.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ÖZEL FROM İMAMOĞLU

While congratulatory messages poured in for Özel, one message came from IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at Silivri Prison.

HE SAID 'NEW TURKEY' IN HIS MESSAGE

The post shared on İmamoğlu's X account stated, "I congratulate Mr. Özgür Özel, who was re-elected as chairman at our Republican People's Party's Extraordinary Congress, and our party executives. Our party is entering this challenging journey much stronger. We will continue to fight with dedication and determination for the construction of a New Turkey. May our path be clear."
