Criminal organization suspect caught in secret compartment of a truck

In an operation conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch against the activities of a criminal organization, a suspect identified as S.G. was apprehended while attempting to flee the country.

As part of the efforts to uncover the activities of the criminal organization, which is alleged to be led by S.Ö., who is currently a fugitive abroad, it was determined that S.G. was involved in 3 different criminal acts in 2024.

It was determined that the suspect attempted to exit the country via a truck at the Hamzabeyli Border Gate in Edirne on August 8, 2026. During a check conducted by customs enforcement officers, it was discovered that S.G. was hiding in a secret compartment prepared inside the truck.

S.G., who was stated to be attempting to flee the country illegally, was taken into custody by the teams. It was learned that the investigation initiated against the suspect is ongoing.
